Singing competition “Vera Kovač Vitkai” was held for the first time in November 2014 at “Isidor Bajić” Music School in Novi Sad. Honorary member of the jury was prima donna herself, Professor MA Vera Kovač Vitkai.

László Vitkay – Kucsera
VALENTINA TAŠKOVA was born in 1968 in Belgrade. She studied music since she was 9 years old. After finishing her secondary education at Music School “Stanković” in Belgrade, where she studied violin with prof. Miodrag Sretenović and classical singing with prof. Olivera Grujić-Slavić, she began her undergraduate studies of violin at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade with prof. Vladimir Čabrenović, where she also studied classical singing with prof. Radmila Smiljanić, which she later continued at The Faculty of Arts in Niš with prof. Gordana Jevtović-Minov. During her studies she won numerous awards and recognitions for her work. She achieved memorable successes at international competitions in Belgrade, Zagreb, Geneva, Milano… In 1994 she debuted in the role of First lady in Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute” as a member of the Operatic studio of National Theatre and Opera in Belgrade, under guidance of Maestro Jovan Šajnović. For number of years she was a soloist of Artistic ensemble of Serbian Army “Stanislav Binički”, a member of the RTS choir and a soloist in Opera and Theatre “Madlenianum” where she interpreted roles in “Cosi fan tutte” (W.A. Mozart), “Les contes d’Hoffman” (J. Offenbach), “Traviata” (G. Verdi) … She had a privilege to work with a number of international and national directors and conductors (Karolos Trikolidis, Ruben Silva, Sinetar Mikloš, Jurij Aleksandrov, Angel Šurev, Jovan Šajnović, Vladimir Kranjčević, Pavle Medaković …) She has performed in many concert halls in Serbia, former Socialistic Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, as well as around Europe (Bulgaria, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, France … ). She is a member of UMUS (Serbian Music Artists Association) and EVTA (European Vocal Teachers Association). She is a recipient of Medal for merit in education and culture of THIRD DEGREE and a recipient of Jubilee award of the Opera and Theatre “Madlenianum” for long lasting artistic contribution in 2007.
Valentina Taškova is a member of the jury at many national and international competitions, and since 2017. she has become an artistic director of an ensemble “Operetika” which promotes Serbian national music and affirms young artists. One of greatest accomplishments amongst her pedagogical work is definitely a performance of her entire class in a full festive hall of Dom Vojske, accompanied by an orchestra UAMO “Stanislav Binički” with Pavle Medaković as a conductor. Since 2008. Valentina works as a teacher of classical singing at Music School “Mokranjac” in Belgrade. A great number of young students have studied with her and made outstanding results at national and international competitions, altogether winning over 200 prizes (134 first prizes, 14 laureates and 10 special prizes). Her students had a chance to perform at the Gallery of SANU, festive hall of Dom Vojske, gallery and festive hall of a Foundation of Ilija M. Kolarac, Etnographic museum… Some of them have already continued their education successfully at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, University of Mozarteum in Salzburg , University of Music in Vienna, Italia …
